S=      The dancer's performance hogged the limelight.

6=     To work at cutting edge= an advantage due to superior skill, ability, or resources
S=      The team worked at the cutting edge to win over its opponents.

7=    To roll out the red carpet =  to welcome sb.
S=      The red carpet was rolled out to welcome the chief guest.

8=    To step up the spunk= to increase your courage
S=      Step up the spunk to face the problem.

9=      Heart over  head = to lead with your emotions
S=     Do not let your heart rule over your head.

10 =     [ Walk the walk=to be good at what you do ]
          [ Talk the talk   =to be able to talk confidently. ]

S=     You can talk the talk, but can not walk the walk.

11=     Null and void= not valid
S=      The contract was declared null and void.

12= To go haywire= to cease or break down
